PA1-MY ENVIRONMENT

My bedroom

Why did you choose this place?

I have chosen this place, since it is the corner of the house where I feel most free and serene. It is my personal space that I go to when I need to relax and take a break. The fact that it is in an attic makes it very attractive thanks to its asymmetrical shapes, and i also get to decorate it, which makes the space even more charming.

What makes you comfortable?

I love the amount of light that comes in throughout the day due to the two roof windows and the window located above the bed. They also allow air to pass through which relieves on warm days. It also has a small space with a carpet, pillows and some books, in which you can sit down and read, draw or watch a movie.

There is some disruptive element?

Right now I wouldn’t change anything about this room, but although I love the sloping ceiling, it can be slightly uncomfortable because sometimes people hit their head with it.

Do you think you’d feel the same way in another space right now?

I don’t think I would have the same emotional connection with another space right now, cause it provides me all the things I need: comfort, functionality, beauty and the most important, tranquillity and serenity.

Do you think that the conditions of this space influence its occupants? How?

As we know all the spaces should be designed for its occupants, so the conditions of this room, like the light, view, size or furniture does influence physically and psychologically the people that make use of it. For example, the fact of having windows overlooking a park transmits a lot of peace every time you enter the room, as well as being able to have the necessary space to study comfortably or a shelving large enough to store all my books, photos, plants, and decorative items.
